My Mom’s Favorite Shortbread Cookie recipe by Melanie Strickland
These Shortbread Cookies are deliciously crisp and buttery in a classic way, and are especially wonderful for Christmas and holiday baking! The dough is easy to make using three simple ingredients.

- 1 lb. Real butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 4 cups of flour
- Mix all ingredients together and roll into long separate rolls and refrigerate overnight. Slice and make cookies bake in 350 degree oven for about 4 minutes till barely light brown. Cool and put icing on.
- Icing: powdered sugar, 2 tablespoonfuls of butter, add a little almond flavouring, and then add milk just enough to give it consistency for icing.
