Guide to ISEE Prep

  • By the end of May, complete practice test one on Test Innovators.
  • Analyze your data.
  • Work through your Test Innovators Prep Plan.
  • You should spend at least 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week on Test Innovators.

Requirements:

    At least 67 minutes per week.

  • Selected materials must be on or above grade level.
  • All genres and formats are acceptable!
  • See below for information on the reading challenge and earning prize points!

Vocabulary

300 ISEE Words To Know List
  • Memorize: the word, its part of speech, its definition
  • Use the word as many times as you can in conversation or writing.
  • Points will be added to your prize bank if you find and highlight the words in your reading. Pics or it didn’t happen!
  • Try to return to school with at least 40 words

Step 2:

Read the book.

Step 3:

Complete DOG EARS for the book, and be prepared to submit these the first day of school.

Challenges to Choose From:
  1. A book based entirely on its cover.
  2. A book that has or will have a TV or Movie adaptation
  3. A book you can read in one sitting
  4. A book your mom or dad loves
  5. A book you started but never finished
  6. A graphic novel
  7. A Bible Study or Spiritual Commentary
  8. A book that won an award
  9. A non-fiction book about something you’ve always wanted to know more about
  10. A book chosen by a bookstore clerk.
  11. A play
  12. A collection of poems or short stories.
