Vol. 1 | No. 7
Dear Future Grace School Gators,
Before we jump into this month’s newsletter all about STEM, I have to take a moment to brag. Grace School has earned the top spot on the Houston Business Journal’s 2021 list of Top-rated Houston area private schools (K-8)! I know this was possible due to our incredible students, parents, teachers, staff, and leadership for their hard work and dedication to providing the best education for each individual child.
Now, let’s talk STEM.
STEM is not just an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics but an education method that integrates all these subjects. It addresses the concerns that these disciplines or subjects are often taught in isolation while the fact is that they are all intertwined. It is a cohesive inter-disciplinary approach based on hands-on learning.
Children are natural explorers, and cultivating their curiosity is one of the most important things educators do. From a student’s academic start in preschool to the final Destination D.C. project in 8th grade, everything is connected. Our curriculum builds year after year so that every discipline, every subject at every grade level is appropriately challenging yet rewarding.
STEM encourages kids to experiment, make mistakes and learn from own experiences to reach correct outcomes, rather than relying on what the textbook says. Critical thinking, logical analysis, inquiry and project-based learning are the keystones in STEM education. It boosts the curiosity in the kids, making learning process fun, relevant and everlasting.
We are continuing to accept applications in grade levels where space is still available. We are so excited about all of the new gators starting with us this fall!
